The Sandpiper Hotel Barbados is a real gem of a hotel and a true vacation hideaway on the desirable West Coast of Barbados. Both discrete and elegant, it has quickly become a favourite retreat for those discerning guests looking for the winning combination of intimacy, informality and privacy.

Owned by the O 'Hara family, who also own The Coral Reef Club Barbados located a few hundred yards further North. Over the past few years The Sandpiper Hotel Barbados has undertaken major renovations including the addition of the fabulous Tree Top suites and now has overall a more stylish look, just a few reasons for being a member of the Small Luxury Hotels of the World along with its sister hotel, the Coral Reef Club Barbados. 

The Sandpiper Hotel Barbados is nestled amongst 7 acres of extensive manicured and very colourful gardens leading to the white sands of the beach. The interior is that of a subdued traditional Bajan theme with its pickled pine ceiling, curtains and prints of old-time Barbados.

Accommodation at The Sandpiper Barbados :
The rooms are located in separate buildings along the edges of the property encompassing the free form swimming pool and dining room in the centre. The buildings vary in style from Bajan coral rock, or stucco and wood, decorated to a theme of brown or black on white, with overhanging balconies. Guests receive a warm welcome, with a complimentary cocktail and flowers in their room on arrival.

The hotel re-opened in November 2015 following a number of improvements. The number of rooms available at Sandpiper has now increased to 52, offering a choice of accommodation, from standard rooms to Tree Top Suites.

The renovated rooms have calmer colours - light blue, beige and green, in place of the chintz, floral furnishings and traditional wicker, with now furniture brought in from the Far East. The latest addition to the accommodation are the Tree Top Suites, interiors British designer Helen Green and each has a private plunge pool.

Garden View Rooms
Garden View rooms consist of a king size or twin bedded room, bathroom and patio or balcony.  These rooms can accommodate two persons.

One Bedroom Suites
One Bedroom Suite accommodation consists of a king size or twin bedded room, bathroom, seperate living room with sofa bed, kitchen and patio or balcony.  These suites can accommodate either three adults or two adults and two children under 12 years

Two Bedroom Suites
Two Bedroom Suites are very spacious accommodation, consisting of two king size or twin bedded rooms, two bathrooms, a separate living room with sofa bed, kitchen and a large patio or balcony.  These suites can accommodate five persons

Tree Top Suites Whimbrel & Sanderling
The Tree Top Suites are The Sandpiper's most luxurious accommodations. They each consist of a bedroom, spacious living room, dressing area and a luxurious bathroom with a large walk-in shower and separate tub; all air-conditioned.

There is a large covered terrace complete with wet bar and complimentary starter bar (selection of spirits and soft drinks). There is also an open sundeck with a plunge pool. Featured in the living room is a media centre for television, movies and music.  These suites both have views of the sea and can accommodate two adults. Children under the age of 12 years are not permitted.

'Whimbrel' has a king size four poster bed and 'Sanderling' can convert from king to twin beds, if required

Tree Top Suite Curlew
Tree Top Suite ‘Curlew’ is The Sandpiper’s premier accommodation.  It is located on the ocean front and has an uninterrupted view of the sea.  It consists of a bedroom, spacious living room, dressing area and a luxurious bathroom with a large walk-in shower and separate tub - all air-conditioned.  

There is a large covered terrace complete with wet bar and complimentary starter bar (selection of spirits and soft drinks).  There is also an open sundeck with a plunge pool.  Featured in the living room is a media center for television, movies and music.  Children under the age of 12 years are not permitted in this suite.

Curlew is larger than the other two Tree Top Suites with a larger plunge pool and it contains a powder room for guests visiting the suite.   The bedroom can convert from king to twin beds if required.  This suite has the capability to connect with the two Beach House Suites to become a three bedroom villa

Beach House Suites
Each of the two ocean front Beach House Suites consist of a large covered patio featuring a wet bar and sun deck. There is a separate living room with sofa bed and media centre for television, movies and music, a bedroom with king size bed, dressing area and bathroom. These suites are beautifully designed and they are connected by way of a common entry hall and a moveable wall on the patio.
